History

1980

  • Marteks founded 11 Nov 1980 by Remzi Cinoglu as a yarn trading company.
  • The company became a distributor of the 2 largest yarn manufacturers in Turkey, selling within the country

1986

  • The factory was set up for production of textiles. First 20 looms bought.

1988

  • Produced sports and skiwear clothing.
  • Manufactured the sportswear of the German national team competing in Seoul Olympics.

1990

  • The finishing and dyehouse plant was set up.
  • Started production of home textiles, first voiles produced.

1992

  • Made first exports.

1998

  • The embroidery plant was set up.

1999

  • Cut and saw operations were started.

2001

  • Exports reached 80 countries on 5 continents. Employed approximately 1,000 dedicated people. Became one of the top 10 exporters of Bursa in all categories and top 100 in Turkey.

2006

  • Company decides to change strategy and focus on higher end product categories, aims for luxury home decoration market. R & D and production machinery are restructured to fit new strategy.

2007

  • Starts working with Editors worldwide.

2010

  • Collections woven with natural fibers developed for the first time.

2012

  • Finishing plant is restructured, investments for natural fiber finishing capabilities enhanced.

2015

  • Invitation to exhibit in Proposte - Como received. First Non-European/ American company to be invited to exhibit in the elite fair.

2018

  • Started production of Upholstery fabrics.

2020

  • We have obtained certificates for Information Security Management System ISO 27001, Personal Data Security ISO 27701.

2021

  • We have obtained certificates for GOTS, Recycled products GRS/RCS
  • Today, we are one of the top 1,000 exporters in Turkey within all categories and one of the market leaders of home textile production in the world.
